A beaming, smiling Adele took the mic at the Brit Awards to accept her British Album of the Year award, “I’m so so proud to be British…” when suddenly the show’s host scurried up and cut off the most awarded singer of the year. Why? Well, because it was time for the group Blur to start performing. *scratches head*
So much for giving your woman of the year a few extra seconds to finish her sentence. Yeesh. At least other award shows give winners a little wrap-it-up music. Now the host James Corden is mad he had to do the rudest thing since “Imma Let You Finish”-gate.
Gracious Adele responded by giving up the mic. But Tottenham Adele made sure to flip the suits at the Brit Awards the middle finger flag for having such a stick up their arse. Hey M.I.A., take note…this is a worthy bird-moment. (spotted via AK)

Nicki Minaj scores a feature in the latest issue of Vogue. The publication takes a look at the rapper/singer's impressive accomplishments racked up in a short amount of time and her lifestyle.
Check out an excerpt from her interview below.
Born in Trinidad, Minaj came to the States when she was five, grew up in Queens, and attended the prestigious LaGuardia high school for the performing arts (it was the model for the school in Fame). Her fashion education also began there. “I was dressing in Tommy Hilfiger baggy shirts and Boss jeans, but then I met a person who dressed like a tiny lady—pantsuits, heels, lots of makeup. I thought she was larger than life. She once did my makeup—I had never seen myself made up before. I didn’t want to wash it off; I felt like I had one day to live this fantasy of being a glamour girl.”
She currently lives in a condo in L.A., where she moved for the weather but also to escape “some bad memories.” Though she declines to divulge much about her personal life, she readily admits to snuggling up in hotel beds, unwinding after a performance by watching Forensic Files and Judge Judy. Minaj insists she’s terrible at small talk and never goes out much, except for the occasional foray to a favorite restaurant. “I went to Negril the other night, and I brought, like, ten of the fans who were waiting outside with me, and bought them all food!”
Now Minaj is expected to be a glamour girl every day. Her ensembles—“They’re costumes, not outfits”—are often custom-made or imported from Japan, where little-known designers like Shojono Tomo supply items like the nutty plastic apron Minaj wore during New York Fashion Week last September. (If she has yet to market her distinctive naughty–baby doll look, Minaj has already entered the world of cosmetics, launching a nail-polish collaboration with OPI and becoming a 2012 M.A.C. Viva Glam spokesperson.) In her downtime, she is far from label-obsessed. “If I can combine designer things with other things, I’m a happy camper.” Not so with accessories. At one time she was spending $50,000 a month on “Giuseppe, Versace, YSL, and Fendi shoes. And I bought tons of Vuitton bags. When you’re a young girl from Queens, you’re going to stock up on those bags.”

Outasight, a New-York-bred musician with a style of music that's all his own, performed in Waterloo Friday as part of his tour with T-Pain and Gym Class Heroes and currently has one of the hottest songs in the country. His single "Tonight Is The Night" was chosen by Pepsi as the soundtrack for their "Music Icons" TV campaign, and since then, the his career has taken off.
Tell me about your unique style of music. You say it doesn't really have a unique genre, so how did you start creating it?
Outasight: I was a kid who listened so many styles of music. I loved rock 'n' roll, I loved punk rock, I loved hip-hop, I loved soul, R&B. I was just inspired by it all, and when I wanted to create, it was just very natural for me to sing and rap over any kind of music. I just kind of continued to grow and get better as an artist and it just kind of became what I do.
I heard that you started your career by doing a lot of open mic shows, so what's it like going from that to not being able to go anywhere without hearing your song on the radio?
Outasight: When you're in those early stages, you want to envision where you want to take it and you never know how it's going to go. And those open mics — at the moment when I was doing them, it felt like it was the most important thing in the world, and now what I'm doing feels like the most important thing in the world. So at the end of the day, that feeling never changes.

Well, I guess we shouldn’t be surprised…but I’m guessing some fans will be disappointed to hear that Rihanna is allegedly being pressured to shelf the “Birthday Cake (Remix)” completely. It’s possible that she recorded it with Chris without alerting label and management. But here’s the thing…burying this song, doesn’t really solve anything if these two continue to reunite in other ways. And by the looks of Rihanna’s twitter rant, the heart wants what the heart wants. Plus, are all parties ready to begin a lengthy period of lying about the duet’s existence? Seems like both Rihanna and Chris are pushing back…
(Continuation of 2/16 post) As for rumors that Chris Brown attended Rihanna’s early birthday celebration after the Grammys this past weekend….Yes, that is also true. In fact, Chris arrived at the party with Rihanna. And stayed. It was not a drive-by appearance. And the energy between the two did not appear purely platonic. The party was a small intimate one. Family members, friends, and interestingly enough, management (Hov was not there, obviously). I imagine there were lots of mixed reactions in the room. (And no, everyone didn’t sign a confidentiality agreement)
(Photo of Rihanna and Chris Brown, back when they were dating in 2009)
So…now that we’ve got the facts out…what kind of reaction will follow? I think you best brace yourselves for multiple waves of heated emotion. Crashing into each other from many directions.
